It has been four days since I came to New York. The weather is great. Tomorrow, I am planning to go to Columbia University to do some research for my master's thesis. I have already called them and they gave me a positive reply. It always feels great to be here. I try hard not to spend all my money on the final sale bargains!! The only hard thing is to find a stable FREE wi-fi internet connection. In a city that lives through commerce and finance, you have to pay for the things you consider free and granted.
The iPhone buzz is still going on, while not like the first days. I tried it for a while and I wasn't very amazed. The typing process is really hard. The Nokia Flagship Store is amazing. A full audio visual experience is provided, while you sit on an elegant stool and play with all the available devices. I spent some time with the N800. It is a great gadget, though without a GSM receiver I don't think that it will become THAT popular. As an Internet Tablet and a PDA alternative, it can suit many needs. It has a great Web browser with Flash player, excellent rich-media streaming capabilities, Skype, Google Talk, an excellent screen and it is Linux-based; thus, you can download many useful applications like an Office-like suite to view and edit all your documents.
That's all for now. I am going for a walk.
I am uploading some pictures now. More will come.
Alea jacta est. I am going back to New York and I couldn't be happier. I will spend a month in my favorite city. I can't wait to visit the new exhibitions at the museums, walk around the streets of SoHo, Nolita and the rest of downtown, enjoy lunch at Nello's on Madison Avenue, jog around Central Park, buy tartines and iced capuccino from Balthazar, sip martinis at Tenjune, taste the delicious turkey sandwich at Viand on 61st Street, review the latest publications while sitting on the floor at the Barnes & Noble store at Union Square, check the latest fashion at Barney's and many many more!
One of my first posts, here at Vox, was about New York. If you have read it, you can understand my enthusiasm. I am an urban child. Even if I enjoy nature, I can't resist to the city.
I Heart New York!
